Driven by his mission to deliver life changing advice, Nick strengthens individuals and families by helping to build financial security and assisting clients in realizing their dreams. By the age of six, Nick knew that he wanted to be a financial planner, following in the footsteps of his inspiring uncle, who also is a financial adviser. From that point, the books Nick read, the focus of his studies, and the choice of mentors sought were strategically organized towards the culmination of his goal to practice financial planning as his life's work.
Nick started working in the industry at MBNA in 2003 in the US Credit Card Finance Division. During that time, he watched skyscrapers erected by the interest people paid on their credit cards. This realization strengthened his resolve to demystify advice and change lives. During college, Nick worked at one of the nation's largest financial services firms, Ameriprise Financial, to help people save for retirement. In 2009, he moved his practice to Hornor, Townsend & Kent, LLC (HTK) to better service his client base and has enjoyed growing his practice. Since joining HTK, Nick studied at The American College for his CFP® (Certified Financial Planner designation) which he earned in 2014. Nick joined Cetera after two soon-to-be retired advisers approached him about buying their practices when they retire from Cetera. He holds licenses for the series 63, 65, 6, 7, Life & Health, Property Casualty.
Service to the community has become an important focus of HFS Advisers. Nick routinely spends time volunteering for the Delaware Humane Association, where he gets the enjoyment of walking dogs in need of homes. Nick serves the business community by working on two committees within the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce. Nick is also an active member of the Delaware Saengerbund, a 1,000 member organization, where he has previously served as Treasurer from 2012 to 2016.
Nick's practice is fortunate to have expanded over the last decade. He has worked alongside HFS's stellar office manager Kathy, who ensures smooth operations, for several years. Nick lives in Pennsylvania with his wife, two children, and two dogs.
